Reeves Thoroughbred Racing and West Point Thoroughbreds have reached a deal with Gunpowder Farms to run Breaking Lucky in the Grade 1, $12 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational, on January 28 at Gulfstream Park.
West Point Thoroughbreds have also purchased an interest in the 5-year-old son of Lookin At Lucky.
"We bought in earlier this week knowing it was a good chance to run in the Pegasus," said Terry Finley, president and CEO of West Point Thoroughbreds.
Bred in Ontario, Breaking Lucky took the Grade 3 Seagram Cup Stakes at Woodbine last August. He also won the 2015 running of the Prince of Wales Stakes. Trained by Reade Baker, the chestnut colt was finished second in the Grade 1 Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs in late November
Breaking Lucky has won three of 16 starts, along with four seconds and three thirds.
